Time Out on Deck
Safety is Haida Style’s #1 priority. Please follow all on board guidelines, like wearing your lifejacket and letting our guides know if you’d like to step outside so we can ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.
Walking Through the Villages
When visiting the village sites, we walk with Yahguudang (Respect). The shell paths guide our steps, helping us protect the sacred and sensitive areas that may not be visible to the eye.
The terrain on our tours can be rugged with uneven or unstable surfaces. We encourage you to review our Health & Safety Guidelines before booking to ensure this experience is the right fit for you.
We encourage all visitors to take the Haida Gwaii Pledge before arriving and check out the Gwaii Haanas Page for more information on the National Park Reserve, Marine Conservation Area Reserve, and Haida Heritage Site. Haawa.
Lunch at K’uuna Llnagaay
Whats for Lunch?
Each tour is unique, especially when it comes to meals. Life on Haida Gwaii means relying on what the land and sea provide, often locally caught salmon, halibut, and sometimes even venison. Below we highlight some of the key features of our lunch.
BBQ Salmon or Halibut, Rice, Roasted potatoes
Light seasonal salad
Seasonal snacks
Baked treats with coffee, tea, water & sometimes hot chocolate
If you have any severe allergies please include that information in your booking details. We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions, however, please understand that with our limited resources it may not always possible. We recommend bringing extra snacks if that makes you feel more comfortable. Thank you for your understanding.
What You Should Know?
We encourage you to read over the following information on safety and our vessels.

Health & Safety
Haida Style will do its best to ensure your comfort and safety upon any change in weather conditions. Please be realistic in your estimation of what physical limitations you may have. While we offer an enclosed cabin for your journey, weather can at times be unpredictable resulting in compression forces on your neck and spine, unstable footing and potential for seasickness. Our on-land portions of our tours require some beach walking, slippery boardwalks and uneven ground. If you are not able to currently participate in these activities, perhaps a land tour with a local company may be a more appropriate option for you.
